DueBinder

Informativa sulla privacyPrivacy notice

Ultimo aggiornamento: 19 ottobre 2026Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Titolare del trattamento

Titolare del trattamento è Andriesi Octavian Matei, Via Mulino Vecchio 9, 12050 Guarene, Italia, contattabile all'indirizzo support@duebinder.com.

I documenti possono contenere dati personali dell'utente, come nome, indirizzo e consumi riportati nelle bollette.

Sicurezza dell'account e sanzioni.

This notice is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR") and describes how the personal data of users of the DueBinder application (the "Application") is processed.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Andriesi Octavian Matei, Via Mulino Vecchio 9, 12050 Guarene, Italy, who can be contacted at support@duebinder.com.

2. Nature of the Application: data on the device and optional cloud

By default the Application works locally, on the user's device. Images, PDFs and other attached files (e.g. Word or Excel documents) are saved as files in the app's private storage, while the other information entered by the user (category, amount, dates, notes) is stored in the device's local storage (IndexedDB). This data is not transmitted to the Controller or to third parties, unless the user chooses to use the optional DueBinder Cloud service, described in section 7: only in that case, and only for the documents the user expressly chooses to upload, is the data transferred to an external server.

3. Image processing

PDF documents are generated entirely on the user's device. Images are not uploaded to remote servers for analysis or storage purposes.

4. Third-party components

To work, the Application loads two software libraries from a public content delivery network (cdnjs, provided by Cloudflare, Inc.). When this happens, the network provider processes technical connection data, including the IP address and the date and time of the request, for service delivery and security purposes. The legal basis is the Controller's legitimate interest in the technical delivery of the Application, under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The processing may involve a transfer of data to third countries, covered by the safeguards provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR. After the first load, these components are kept in the app's cache and the Application also works without a connection.

5. In-app and local notifications

If the user turns them on, the Application can show due-date reminders both inside the app and as phone notifications scheduled on the device itself. In both cases the time and content of the notification are calculated entirely on the device, using the operating system's features: no data leaves the device for this purpose.

6. Push notifications via server (safety net)

Notifications scheduled on the device (section 5) may fail to fire if the operating system has stopped the app in the background to save power. As an additional safety net, if the user turns notifications on, the app sends the following information to the Application's server (a Cloudflare Worker operated by the Controller), for the sole purpose of resending the same alert through a third-party push service (Firebase Cloud Messaging, provided by Google Ireland Limited): a random identifier generated on the device, not traceable to the user's identity; the notification token assigned by Firebase to this installation; the time of day chosen by the user to receive alerts (morning, lunch, afternoon, evening or night), used by the server only to avoid sending the alert outside that time; the language of the app (Italian or English), used only to write the notification in that language; and, for each due date to be notified, the issuer name or category, the amount, the currency and the due date. Files, images, PDFs or notes are never transmitted. This data is kept on the server only until the notification is sent and is replaced at each subsequent synchronization. The legal basis is the performance of an optional feature requested by the user (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR), which can be turned off at any time in the notification settings; when turned off, sending to the server stops and any remaining data on the server is overwritten at the next synchronization. Processing by Google may involve a transfer of data to third countries, covered by the safeguards provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR. If the user has a DueBinder Cloud account, the random identifier is linked to their account (section 7), so that notifications follow the user to another device.

7. Optional account and cloud storage (DueBinder Cloud)

What is processed. The Application can be used without an account. If the user creates an account for DueBinder Cloud, the following are processed: the email address, an account identifier, the installation identifier used for notifications (section 6), the plan subscribed to with its expiry date, and the storage used. With Google sign-in, the email address and identifier are provided by Google, while the password of the Google account is never accessible to the Controller; with email and password sign-in, the password is handled by the authentication service and is not visible to the Controller. The email address must be confirmed through a link sent to the user.

Documents uploaded to the cloud. Only for the documents the user expressly chooses to upload (by tapping the cloud icon or turning on the option when saving) are the files (images, PDFs and other attachments) and the related document data (category, issuer, amount, currency, dates, notes) transferred to and stored on the server. Documents that are not uploaded stay exclusively on the device. Documents may contain the user's personal data, such as the name, address and consumption shown on bills.

Purpose and legal basis. The data is processed solely to deliver the service requested by the user (storage and access from multiple devices), under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. The Controller does not use the data for advertising or profiling, does not sell it and does not give it to third parties for their own purposes, and does not view the content of uploaded documents, except where required by law.

Service providers. To deliver the service the Controller uses Firebase Authentication (Google Ireland Limited, Google LLC) for sign-in, and Cloudflare, Inc. for the infrastructure on which the account and documents are stored (Workers, D1 database and R2 storage). These providers process the data on behalf of the Controller and according to its instructions. The processing may involve a transfer of data to third countries, covered by the safeguards provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR.

Security. Data is transmitted over an encrypted TLS connection and documents are stored encrypted at rest with AES-256, in a private archive that is not publicly accessible: each user can access only their own files.

Payments. Any purchase of a plan is made through the store from which the Application was downloaded, which processes the payment data: the Controller does not receive or keep card numbers or other payment data.

Archive sharing. If the holder of a paid plan chooses to share their documents with other people, the Controller processes the participants' email addresses (provided by the owner), any name the owner gives them (visible only to the owner) and the chosen access level, and makes the shared documents visible to the participants according to that level. The participant must have an account and accept the invitation; the owner can hide individual documents and revoke sharing at any time, and the participant can leave. Shared documents stay in the owner's space and are deleted as described in section 9. Deleting either account ends the sharing.

Account security and sanctions. To prevent abuse, the Controller may suspend an account (for 48 hours or 7 days) or close it permanently when the cloud service is used in breach of the Terms (for example mass invitations or use beyond the plan's limits). For this purpose the Controller keeps, for each account, the days on which it was used (date only, with no times or content), the number of and reason for sanctions, and any internal notes. A suspended account can always download its documents and delete the account. A person permanently excluded who then deletes the account cannot return with the same email address: for this purpose only an irreversible cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of the address, not the address itself, is kept for 12 months. Legal basis: the Controller's legitimate interest in the security of the service and the prevention of abuse, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The Controller also reviews aggregated usage statistics (number of users, plans, storage used, notifications sent) without viewing the content of documents; access to the management panel is protected and logged.

8. Cookies and local storage tools

The Application does not use profiling cookies, statistical analysis tools, advertising systems or tracking technologies. The local storage tools used have a purely technical purpose, necessary to deliver the service requested by the user, and do not require consent under Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

9. Retention and deletion

Data remains on the device until the user deletes it. Each document can be deleted individually from the archive; complete removal is obtained by clearing the app's data in the system settings or by uninstalling the Application. Backup copies created by the user remain in their exclusive control and responsibility. The minimal data described in section 6, if present, is removed from the server when the user turns off push notifications in the Application's settings. Merely uninstalling the Application, if notifications have not been turned off first, does not automatically remove this data from the server: it remains until it is turned off from the same installation or can be deleted on written request to the address given in section 1.

Documents uploaded to the cloud (section 7) are kept until the user removes them from the cloud, deletes the document or deletes the account. Removing a document from the cloud or deleting it from the Application deletes it from the server. Deleting the account, available in the Application under Account, permanently deletes the account, the uploaded documents and the related data from the server. When the plan expires, documents may be kept for a read-only period to allow them to be downloaded and are then deleted, with a notice in the Application. The user can also request deletion in writing at the address given in section 1.

Account usage days are kept for at most 400 days, technical error logs and management-panel access logs for 90 days, and the email fingerprint described in section 7 for 12 months. Deleting the account removes the associated notes and usage days.

10. Security

The protection of locally stored data depends on the security measures of the user's device; users are advised to use suitable lock systems and to keep backup files carefully, as they are not encrypted. For data uploaded to the cloud, the measures described in section 7 apply. Users are advised to choose a strong password and not to share it.

11. Rights of the data subject

Data subjects have the rights set out in Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR. Since the Controller does not hold the data stored on the device, these rights can be exercised against the Controller only in relation to the processing described in sections 4, 6 and 7. Documents uploaded to the cloud can be downloaded by the user at any time and deleted from the Application. The right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali), under Article 77 of the GDPR, is in any case unaffected.

12. Changes

The Controller reserves the right to update this notice. The version in force is the one published in the Application, with the date of the last update.
